Abstract

The radioactive substances diffused with the occurrence of the 2011 Fukushima I Nuclear Power
Plant accident is still deposited in the sediment of the reservoir. In this research, based on the dynamics of
radioactive substances in soil by previous research, focusing on solidification of the reservoir sediment, the
authors examined the applicability of neutral-based solidifying materials to be used at that time. In particular,
the authors compare the difference between cement-based solidifying material and two types of neutral-based
solidifying materials and discuss whether it is desirable to use any solidifying material in solidification of the
reservoir sediment from the environmental impact after the improvement. In addition, the authors conducted a
test on the characteristics required when using neutral-based solidifying materials.
